Throughout his early years in the industry, Clarence gained valuable experience as a clapper loader, working on a wide range of projects, from commercials to TV shows and movies. This hands-on experience taught him the fundamentals of camera operation and the importance of teamwork in achieving success in film production.

In his free time, Clarence was proactive in honing his cinematography skills by shooting short films and music videos. This commitment to constant improvement set the stage for his transition to a full-time focus puller.

His career took a significant turn when he had the opportunity to work as a focus puller on a short film in 2019. This experience opened doors for him, and he went on to work on numerous movies, series, and commercials in this role.

A pivotal moment in Clarence's career came in 2021 when he began collaborating with cinematographer Marius de Nysschen as his focus puller. This partnership not only provided him with valuable insights into lighting and camera techniques but Marius also instilled in him the belief in his potential as a talented cinematographer.

In 2023, Clarence took a bold step towards his goal of becoming a full-time cinematographer by investing in a Sony FX6 cinema camera. This investment underscores his commitment to the art of cinematography and has allowed him to expand his portfolio by shooting more commercials and music videos.
